SteadAtlas ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Purchase information: Email address and payment details (processed by Stripe -- we do not store credit card numbers)
  • Property addresses: Addresses submitted for report generation
  • Usage data: Pages visited, time on site, and referring URLs
  • Communications: Emails or messages you send to our support team

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate and deliver your Climate Risk Report
  • To send your report PDF via email
  • To provide customer support
  • To improve our products and website

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant. We retain purchase records for accounting and legal compliance purposes.

5. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies to ensure the website functions correctly. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, Google Analytics, or Facebook Pixel.

For aggregate site analytics we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool that does not use personal data or cross-site tracking. Plausible records anonymous page views and does not set cookies or fingerprint your device.

6. Free Tools & Shareable URLs

Our free tools (Homestead Location Finder, Flood Zone Lookup) run entirely in your browser. Searches, weights, and county results are computed on your device; they are never sent to our servers. We literally cannot see what you search for.

The Location Finder includes a "Share results" feature that encodes your slider settings into the URL so you can send a link to someone else. Those parameters only travel to whoever you send the link to — they do not reach our servers unless the recipient visits the link, and even then they are processed in their browser, not by us.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Cloudflare (hosting and CDN)
  • Plausible Analytics (anonymous, cookieless site analytics)
  • Protonmail (email delivery for reports and support)

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing their use of your data.
